Welcome to Zakat Plus. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Zakat Plus mobile application ("the App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Zakat Plus, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Zakat Plus.

2. Description of Service

Zakat Plus is a mobile application designed to help Muslims calculate their Zakat obligations. The App provides:

• Tools to input and track various types of zakatable assets
• Liability tracking and deduction
• Nisab threshold comparison (gold and silver standards)
• Zakat calculation at the standard rate of 2.5%
• Calculation history and tracking
• Educational resources about Zakat

3. Educational Purpose and Disclaimer

3.1 Not Religious Advice

The calculations and information provided by Zakat Plus are for educational and informational purposes only. The App is designed to assist you in calculating Zakat but should not be considered a substitute for religious guidance.

3.2 Consult Qualified Scholars

For specific questions about your Zakat obligations, including but not limited to:

• Whether certain assets are zakatable
• The appropriate Nisab standard to use
• Timing and distribution of Zakat
• Special circumstances or complex financial situations

We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified Islamic scholar or religious authority in your community.

3.3 No Guarantee of Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate calculations based on commonly accepted Islamic principles, we do not guarantee that the calculations are complete, accurate, or suitable for your specific circumstances. Different schools of thought (madhabs) may have varying opinions on certain aspects of Zakat calculation.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Accurate Information

You are responsible for providing accurate information about your assets and liabilities. The accuracy of Zakat calculations depends entirely on the data you enter.

4.2 Verification

You are responsible for verifying that the calculated Zakat amount is appropriate for your situation before fulfilling your obligation.

4.3 Lawful Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Ownership

The App, including its design, code, features, content, and trademarks, is owned by Zakat Plus and is protected by intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

5.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

5.3 Restrictions

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
• Use the App for any commercial purpose without our written consent
• Create derivative works based on the App

6. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. Key points:

• All data is stored locally on your device
• We do not collect or transmit personal data
• The App works fully offline

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
• FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
• NON-INFRINGEMENT
• ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF CONTENT

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:

• ZAKAT PLUS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
• THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
• OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP (IF ANY)

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Zakat Plus, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of the App
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party

10. Modifications to the App and Terms

10.1 App Updates

We may update, modify, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the App.

10.2 Terms Updates

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted within the App and on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device. We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason.

Upon termination, all provisions of these Terms that should survive termination shall remain in effect, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Third-Party Services

The App may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. You access third-party content at your own risk.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in accordance with applicable law.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Zakat Plus regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

16. Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be considered a waiver of those rights. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by Zakat Plus.
